Palle Hjorth
As a small child Palle (*1975) fell in love with the organ and quickly discovered that this was the path he would follow. After high school, Palle was enrolled in the Rhythmic Study Program at The Royal Academy Of Music in Aarhus, majoring in the Hammond Organ. After three years of study while teaching piano at Favskov School Of Music on the side, his calendar was so filled with concerts and recording sessions that Palle decided to leave the Academy to focus on his budding career as a session musician and sideman.

Palle is primarily a Hammond Organ player but has broadened his scope to include anything with keys; piano, harmonica and synthesizers – you name it. For the past 15 years, Palle has been a permanent fixture in some of the biggest bands in Denmark including Peter Sommer, Povl Dissing Band, The Sandmen, På Slaget 12, Marie Frank, Hush, Poul Krebs Band and of course Savage Rose, for whom he replaced Thomas Koppel after his untimely death in 2006. Furthermore, he has toured or performed with CV Jørgensen, Steffen Brandt, Thomas Helmig, Lisa Nilsson, Michael Falch, Signe Svendsen, Nive Nielsen, Lille Palle and international artists such as Mark Lanegan, Agnes Obel, Stig Rossen, Andrew Strong and many more. Palle also teaches at various music camps as coach/band doctor.

As a session musician, composer and producer. Palle has recorded over 100 CDs with a long list of artists in various genres. He has recorded with Savage Rose, Poul Krebs, Povl Dissing, Vincent Van go go, Allan Olsen, Peter Sommer, Mike Andersen Band, Lise Westzynthius, Moussa Diallo, Hush, and Bruce Guthro to name but a few. In 2014, he received a Steppeulf, the Danish Critics award, for Musician Of The Year.
