Kalle Salonen
Kalle is a groove jazz musician and composer whose main instrument is the Hammond organ. Kalle has performed solo, with the Kalle Salonen & Antero Priha duo, and in the bands Kalle Salonen, Organ Free and most recently Salonen-Gustavson-Gröhn. Over the years, Salonen has also hosted the Hammond club at Bar Loose and the late Elmu premises in Nostur in Helsinki, and worked as a radio show organist at Radio Helsinki. In addition to his own band, Salonen has performed with, among others, Jukka Gustavson, Sam Heat, Marzi Nyman, Pepe Willberg, Marko Haavisto, Hannu Pikkarainen, Teuvo Merkkiniemi, Pekka Gröhn, Janne Salonen, Antero Priha and Panu Syrjæs.

The Kalle Salonen band is influenced by funk, jazz and rhythm and blues. Salonen leads his band with strong compositional skills and an unfailing sense of musical style. Salonen's endless love for music drives him forward to create dedicated music across genre boundaries.

In 2023, Kalle was selected as an artist of the Outsider Art Festival's OAF Academy for a six month working period. Kalle has been awarded the Kynnys ry's Vimma culture award. He also plays the church organ and piano.
