Christophe Cravero
Christophe entered the Conservatoire National de Marseille at the age of 8 in viola,
orchestral conducting and musical analysis classes where he obtained a first prize at
the age of 16. It was for music that his parents moved to Paris, where Christophe
continued his musical studies at the Conservatoire National de Saint-Maur des Fossés
where he obtained a second gold medal, in viola, at the age of 17.
Christophe's first encounter with jazz began at the age of 13 on the piano, his first compositions at 17. He began to play these in Parisian clubs in 1993. At 19, he began working on the production of his first CD. Eleven musicians, notably Jean-Marie Ecay and Jean-Marc Jafet, share with him the pleasure of playing his thirteen colorful and eclectic compositions, all bearing the names of birds. He also shares magical moments with Didier Lockwood, whom he accompanies on piano and violin during several concerts. He is currently his assistant at Didier's school. Christophe tours today with Billy Cobham, Thomas Fersen or Sanseverino. from yamaha.com |
