Holger Clausen
Holger Clausen (* 1947), had his musical education at the music colleges in Düsseldorf and Köln where he received his diplomas. Now renowned jazz pianist, Holger is lecturer at the Universität zu Köln and has been guest lecturer at the universities of Paderborn, Frankfurt, Zürich, Paris and Siena.

Holger's activities are widely spread from classical music to jazz. He is the leader of a big band, but also the leader of smaller jazz bands and chamber music ensembles. He works for theatres as well as musicals. An outstanding project is the "jazz on the pipe organ", which is performed as a trio with bass and drums.

A great part of his work is dedicated to ancient music where Holger plays the viola da gamba. His skills as a composer are presented by a huge amount of compositions covering church music, chansons, jazz, organ music, a musical, a piano concert, a choir mass and a christmas oratorio.

Holger passed away in January 2008.
