Sebastian Scobel Sebastian (*born 1987) got his musical education (classical and jazz piano) at the Sächsische Hochschule für Musik in Dresden. From 2008 through 2013, he studied jazz piano at the Hochschule für Musik und Tanz in Köln with Hubert Nuss, Florian Ross and Sebastian Sternal, extra studies with Simon Nabatov, Jürgen Friedrich, Marko Lackner, and Jiggs Whigham. Here, he started studies in jazz composition and arrangement with Florian Ross in October 2014.   In August 2015 till 2016 he could attend to the Rhythmic Music Conservatory in København/Denmark. Also, Sebastian had the chance to work with Larry Goldings, Lonnie Smith, and Dan Hemmer. He was rewarded as best soloist and best group perfomance at the German Youth Jazz Awards, including a recording at the Deutschlandfunk Studios. In 2013, he was the winner of the "Steinway Price Jazz" Nordrhein-Westfalen. In 2015, he won the "New German Jazz Award" with the Filippa Gojo Quartett.   Sebastian has toured the USA, Jordan, the Carribean, Portugal, West Africa, Poland, and France and took part in several jazz festivals. He is a member of various bands such as Mengamo Trio, Filippa Gojo Quartett, Tamara Lukasheva Quartett, Subway Jazz Orchestra, CC5 and many more.
