Hans-Günther Wauer
Hans-Günther (* 1925) studied at the Musikhochschule in Leipzig with Karl Straube. From 1951 until 1996, he was the organist at the cathedral in Merseburg/Germany. Also, he worked as lecturer for organ and improvisation at the Kirchenmsuikschule in Halle. he first contacted the world of jazz in 1976, when the Ernst Ludwig Petrowsky Trio was invited to join an organ festival in Merseburg. This event led the way to a steady cooperation with drummer Günther Sommer which resulted in some very interesting record productions. Theo Jörgensmann was one of Wauer's later partners. Wauer passed away in February 2016.
