In 1988, Yiannis founded the group Blues Family, which was the blues dream team of 1990s in Greece. In 1988, the Hot Organic Trio was founded by Yiannis, guitarist Makis Ablianitis and drummer Zafiris Tsinalis. Their idea was to present for the first time in Greece, the Hammond organ trio Soul-Jazz sound. Their repertoir includes jazz ,soul, funk & blues standards and themes from the huge tank of the 1950s, 196's and 1970s era, combined with their own compositions. The trio has played almost every club in Greece and in festivals too. The 2015 lineup features Apostolos Leventopoulos on the guitar replacing Makis Ablianitis and Vassilis Pousaios replacing Zafeiris Tsinalis on drums.
