Alice Coltrane
Alice (*1937) was the wife of John Coltrane. She started her musical career in the bands of Yusef Lateef and Kenny Burrell. In 1959, she went to Paris where she studied the piano with Bud Powell. After his death in 1967, Alice founded her own bands with various players like Joe Henderson, Pharao Sanders and Carlos Ward.
