Jon Hammond
Jon's instruments are the organ, the accordion and the piano. Born in 1953 in Chicago, he started very early to play professionally as a solo accordionist. Age 18, Jon bought his first Hammond B-3. In 1974, he attended the Berkeley College of Music. He had then moved to the east of the USA, and consequently toured up to the northeast and Canada. Also, he performed in nightclubs in Boston and New York. At that time, he called himself Jon Morgan ("Jon Morgan on the organ"). But in 1975, he changed his pseudonym to Jon Hammond.

The 80's saw Jon mostly in Europe where he lived and toured. His first important jazz performing was in 1981, when he played in Paris for 56 days. The roots of Jon's style however lie in rock, funk, bossa nova, soul and R&B. He was deeply influenced by artists like Herbie Hancock, Ray Charles, Billy Preston and Barry Finnerty.

Jon is a born "showman". Since 1983, he has great success with his "Jon-Hammond-Show" which became a Manhattan Cable TV favorite. It is a funky, swinging jazz instrumental revue, featuring notable international soloists.

Among various activities, Jon works as author: He is preparing a book titled "Late Rent - My Life In Music Business".
