Zach Wilson
Zach started out being classically trained by pianist Mark Mitchell at the age of 5
with assistance from Stephen Thornton at Mitchell's Academy of Music in Perry, GA.
By age 10, he started taking lessons in contemporary gospel music from Middle Georgia
based music minister Jay Adams.
In 2011, Zach became involved with the Otis Redding Foundation in Macon, GA. The Otis Redding Foundation's mission is to empower, enrich and motivate youth through education in music. Every summer, they hold a music camp which focuses on songwriting, performance development and music business. Through the foundation, Zach received a chance to attend Berklee College of Music's 5 Week Summer Performance Program in 2014 and also perform at the World Famous Apollo Theater in New York City. In 2015, Zach began attending Kennesaw State University majoring in music performance with a concentration in jazz piano, graduating in December 2019. In the same year, Zach had a sold out live performance with his tribute to musical innovator Herbie Hancock and also had the opportunity to tour with Grammy-nominated artist Baby Rose. |
