Vito's sultry tenor sax is joined by Kris Kaiser on guitar; Ben Paterson playing organ
and Aaron Seeber doing drums, in one of the most splendid and soulful jazz albums you
will hear in 2020.
What really stood out for me on the 6:17 "You Said It" is the "meat on the bones" style
of sax playing that Vito demonstrates. Ben's organ work on this song is also full-tilt. a
high-level, high-energy performance that jazz DJ's around the world are going to be spinning
over & over (& OVER) again!
If you're looking for something with a bit more "mellow" in it, you'll totally dig the opener,
"Dream Dancing" ... Vito's tenor on this song really reminds me of Stan Getz, but he's definitely
got his own way of expressing it ... Kris's guitar on this one certainly contributes to the
laid-back feel of the tune, as well.
The upbeat & swinging tones on Monk's "Work" are perfect for your iPhone ... definitely an "on
the road again" appeal; it made it onto my player, and I'll be jammin' to it as I ride in my GTO
all around town!
My choice for personal favorite of the nine (long) songs offered up is (without question) Vito's
performance of Stanley Turrentine's "Minor Chant" ... ALL the players are KICKIN' it out on this
one, folks - GREAT organ work will enhance it for listener who also play keyboards (like me).
I give Vito & his players a MOST HIGHLY RECOMMENDED rating, with an "EQ" (energy quotient) score
of 4.98 for this jammin' jazz adventure.
