Liévin Lefebvre Liévin is a native of Lille. From a young age, he expressed an interest in music and studied jazz organ privately. He later joined the Lille Regional Orchestra, where he earned a diploma in saxophone. Around the same time, he was the French laureate of the Yamaha Electone Festival international organ competition. In September 1989, he became a teacher at the Yamaha Music Center in Paris. He specialized in the Yamaha Music Education System and trained in teaching improvisation. He gradually earned "Grade 3" excellence diplomas from the Yamaha Music Foundation (Japan) in piano, organ, and theory. He was later promoted to trainer and pedagogical director at Yamaha Music Europe, a position he held until 2017.   Between 2002 and 2007, he also directed the Yamaha school in Nice. He participated in several organist formations with figures from the Nice music scene, such as guitarist Amaury Filliard and saxophonist Sébastien Chaumont. In 2017, he moved to Portugal and took on the role of musical director at the Colégio da Quinta Inglesa. Around the same time, he recorded his first album, "La vie continue," in a trio with guitarist Nuno Trocado and drummer Acácio Salero. He then became a member of the Kyle Green quintet, composed of Cesar Cardoso, Ricardo Formoso, and Michael Lauren.   In 2024, Liévin founded the company "Educreamuz" in France, which promotes an improvisation teaching method for students of the classical system, and opened the "Liévin Piano Lesson" teaching structure in Guimarães/Portugal, where he offers instruction that represents a synthesis of the teaching systems he has experienced, with a special emphasis on learning improvisation.   Since 2024 he has been the pedagogical director and piano teacher at the Escola de Jazz do Convívio.   from em.guimaraes.pt
